SEO and Vibe-Coded Public Sites
Pretty websites are great, but if bots can’t read them, it’s like putting up a billboard in the desert.
You can make the best-looking website, add all the right tags, keywords, and meta descriptions… and still be completely invisible online.
Here’s why:
Google, search engines, and AI tools don’t “see” your site like humans do. They read the actual text in your page’s code. If your content only shows up after the site loads (common with AI builders like Lovable or bolt.new), bots often find… nothing.
That means:
- No SEO
- No showing up in search
- No AI models finding your content
How to check:
Go to your site, right-click, and select “View Page Source.”
If you don’t see your actual words and images there, neither do the bots.
This is why tools like Webflow or Wix are still popular for public marketing sites. If you’re vibe-coding, you’ll need to make your site visible another way:
- Use server-side rendering (SSR) or static site generation (SSG)
- Pre-render if needed, tools like Vite SSG or react-snap can generate static HTML versions of your app.
Takeaway:
SEO isn’t just about keywords. It’s about making sure bots can actually read your content.
Pretty websites are great, but if bots can’t read them, it’s like putting up a billboard in the desert.
